Submission Guidelines

Trauma Psychology News (TPN) offers a venue for your work to be seen by Division 56 members, trauma psychologists, students, and the general public. Our newsletter gets hundreds of views each week.

Please consider submitting or sharing this message with others.

The Newsletter Editorial Team is committed to working with authors on any revisions and resubmissions to develop a publishable piece, at their discretion.

Authors may submit multiple works concurrently. However, please note that we limit selecting submissions for publication from individual authors to 2 per publication year, with 1 maximum per issue, in order to provide space to expand the diversity of authors. Thank you for your understanding!

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
Trauma Psychology News is published each Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Submission Types

Who's Who Profiles

Submit a nomination of a colleague to be featured in an upcoming issue. Please include the colleague's contact information and a 50- to 100-word profile highlighting them.

Feature/General Articles

Approximately 2,000 words, excluding references—however, space is flexible. You may choose to submit a 300-word informal Letter of Intent before a full-length article submission. Articles may focus on on a range of topics within trauma psychology or feature information for ECPs, Fellows, or Students. You may submit articles directly to the Section Editor(s) below.

Book and Conference Reviews, Resources, Media, & More

This includes a variety of media such as books, video clips, conferences, reviews of other media items, podcasts, and different resources. We encourage our members to submit resources that readers would find useful in their practices.

This section has three cycles per year and only accepts submissions during certain periods of time, beginning approximately three months prior to Trauma Psychology News issue deadlines.
